Formed in 2022 in the city of Kumamoto, futurina is a four-piece band whose music channels the emotional weight of 90s emo with a distinctly introspective, melodic style. The band came together through the local music scene centered around Navaro, a well-known Kumamoto live house. The members bonded over a shared vision of creating something heartfelt, raw, and reflective of their surroundings.
futurina’s music draws inspiration from classic emo, while incorporating soft, atmospheric elements that give their sound a dreamlike, almost pastoral quality. It’s a delicate balance—melancholy but not despairing, nostalgic but still forward-looking. Their songs often explore themes of change, vulnerability, and the subtle emotional landscapes of everyday life.
